(四)从句子结构考虑

　　从测试的目的看，两个空都要求考生对该句的结构有准确的把握：从with which到句末是一个定语从句，修饰diffieulty，这个定语从句中又包含了一个定语从句he needed和一个不定式to start his gas station作目的状语。答案分别为B和D。
　　(五)从词汇的意义及用法考虑
　　The news twenty minutes later…
　　A．continued B．lasted C．spread D．arrived
　　(20分钟同一消息又在继续播放)四个动词都可以与the news搭配，但含义各不相同，lasted(持续)，spread(扩散)，arrived(到达)，只有A项continued(继续)能与后面的时间状语twenty minutes later连用。
