European Commission arranges 100 mln euros for projects of cooperation with China
The European Commission will arrange 100 million Euros for projects of cooperation with China this year, Serge Abou, Ambassador of the Delegation of the European Commission to China, said Thursday.
"At the end of last December, the European Commission approved a large number of projects of cooperation with China, worth 80 million Euros. And another 20 million Euros will to be approved in January," said Abou.
According to Abou, the new projects include cooperation in energy, environment protection, civil aviation, exchange of students, among others.
"The creation of an institute for clean and renewable energy, a center to foster technology, and a center in Beijing to support the investment of SMES in business are also included," Abou added.
"EU and China are strategic partners and need each other's help to overcome the global economic downturn," said Abou. "The investment is an important part of our cooperation in dealing with the financial crisis."
