一、教学目标与要求


   通过本单元教学,全面复习本册书所列出的重点日常交际用语项目,如:命令与要求、提出建议与忠告、表示个人看法等。全面复习本册书中所列出的重点语法项目,如:定语从句、直接引语和间接引语、被动语态、过去完成时和动词不定式作主语等用法。

二、复习要点

三、课型


(一)对话课


Ⅰ.教具 录音机,投影仪。

Ⅱ.课堂教学设计

  
1.教师通过以下提问导入本课:Suppose you have a problem and you can not solve ityourself.Tell me what you are going to do?(Ask someone for advice.)

  
2.准备放对话录音。教师用投影仪打出听前提问:1)What does Zhou Lan ask Jane for?2)What is Jane tired of?

  
放录音一至两遍,请同学试答上述问题,教师予以订正。

Key:1)Zhou Lan asked Jane for some advice.2)Jane is tired of so much reading on bi-ology.

  
针对本课对话内容,教师提出其它问题,检查学生的理解程度。

1)Why does Jane ask Zhou Lan for advice?2)Does Jane like biology?How do youknow?3)What is Jane’s problem?4)What does Zhou Lan suggest?

Key:1)Because she wants to improve her biology.2)She likes biology,because shesays that she really enjoys it.3)She is tired of too much reading on biology and she wants toimprove,but she does not know how to do it.4)Zhou Lan suggests that Jane ask Mr Wu.And she also suggests that Jane should do a tomato experiment.

3.再放录音,学生两个人一组练习对话3至5分钟。教师请几组同学到前面表演。

4.根据对话中提及种植西红柿的实验经过,教师用投影仪打出如下提示,要求学生按所给提示,两人一组,说出该过程:

Say something about how to do the tomato experiment:1)not use anything special;2)ask Mr.Wu to borrow some boxes;3)use the lab and prepare some plant food;4)weighplant food carefully;5)grow tomatoes in one box which has plant food in the soil;growsome tomatoes in another box which does not;6)see the result

经数分钟练习后,教师可请几位同学到前面进行表演,教师予以讲评。

5.教师指导学生归纳在本课中有关提出忠告和建议的常用语句(见日常交际用语部分)。也可为学生设计一些“问题”,启发同学运用这部分语言,为别人提出忠告和建议。

Samples:

1)Somebody wants to improve his/her Chinese,but does not know HOW.Please givehim or her some advice.2)Somebody wants to improve his/her health,but does not knowHOW.Please give him or her some advice.3)Somebody is too fat/thin.Please give him orher some advice.4)Somebody has difficulty in getting along with his/her classmates.Pleasegive him or her some advice.

6.指导学生将对话改编成短文:

提示语:1)meet Zhou Lan;2)ask for advice;3)tired of reading biology;4)do a tomatoexperiment;5)suggest that they do it together

将首句给出:Jane happened to meet Zhou Lan outside the school library.

要求学生根据对话,参照老师所给提示及首句,编写短文。

Model:

Jane happened to meet Zhou Lan outside the school library.She asked Zhou Lan to giveher some advice on her biology.She said she enjoyed biology,but she was tired of readingthe biology book.Zhou Lan had an idea.She asked Jane to do a tomato experiment in the laband gave her a lot of ideas on how to do the experiment.Finally Jane suggested that they dothe experiment together,Zhou Lan agreed.

当堂要求学生完成,如时间允许,可请几位同学朗读自己的短文,教师予以讲评。

7.布置作业 1)预习第54、55课;2)完成练习册中所安排的练习。


(二)阅读理解课


Ⅰ.教具 录音机,投影仪。

Ⅱ.课堂教学设计

1.检查生词及短语。

2.教师通过以下提问导入正课:1)Now tell me the truth:Do you have any problemsthat you can not solve yourselves?

2)When you have these problems,what would you do?Do you like to talk with yourparents,teachers or friends?Or do you like to write to somebody to ask for some advice?Now we are going to read some letters and let’s see what problems these people have andwhat advice or suggestions Amy give them.

3.教师给出读前提问:1)What is Ken’s problem?2)What is Amy’s advice?

教师给学生数分钟,要求学生快速阅读课文。之后请同学回答上述问题。

Key:1)He is not happy at school because other children often make fun of him for hisbeing short.2)Amy suggests that he choose someone as a special friend.

4.放课文录音,学生跟读一至两遍。

5.教师用投影仪打出以下表格,组织学生俩人一组,利用课文中所提供的信息填写表格中所缺少的部分。



学生先在小组内交流并相互启发、补充,然后请学生在班上交流。

6.布置作业完成练习册中所安排的练习。


(三)语言训练课

1.教师检查课文复述。

2.教师从本单元词语中选择部分常见词语,配以例句介绍给学生。要求学生反复练习这些例句,并请同学造句,教师予以讲评订正。

词语:be tired of;consider doing something;suggest;I thought it was going to…;Iwas going to…,but…;tell lies;reply to;in fact;get along with;try one’s best;worryabout;because of

例句:1)He told me that he was tired of the job.2)He considered dropping maths,forit was difficult for him to follow the teacher in class.3)I suggest doing it in a different way.4)I thought it was going to be fine,but it rained continuously.5)I was going to the cinemawith my classmates yesterday evening,but my uncle came and we had dinner together.6)When children are beginning to tell lies,we should help them to see their fault.7)Thoughhe talked a lot,he failed to reply to my question.8)In fact,there is only one thing you cando at the moment.9)—How are you getting along with your roommates?—Quite well.

3.书面表达练习

A.模仿Ken的遭遇,用本单元所学词语写一篇短文。

中文提示(用投影片打出):1)厌倦在鞋厂的工作;2)考虑换工作;3)来鞋厂前的好心情;4)有人拿他取笑。

英文提示(用投影片打出):be tired of;consider doing;he thought it was going to…but…;get along with;reply to;make fun of

将首句给出:Bruce told Ann that he was tired of his job in the shoe factory and he wasconsidering changing his job in a few days’time.

七、八分钟后,请几位同学朗读自己的短文,教师予以讲评。

Model:

Bruce told Ann that he was tired of his job in the shoe factory and he was considering changing his job in a few days’time.He said that before he went to the shoe factory,hethought it was going to be fun.But later he did not like the factory at all.Ann asked himwhether he was getting along with the other workers very well.Bruce did not reply to herquestion.He only said that sometimes they made fun of him

B.假定你是Amy,接到两封信。用自己的语言描写这两封信,或编写一个与自己母亲的小对话。

Model:

Suppose you are Amy and you’ve just got two letters.Describe the letters in your ownwords:

I’ve got two letters this morning.The first letter is from Ken.He told me that he didnot like new school,because all the other students had been in the same school before andthey got along with each other very well.Though Ken tried to be friendly,they still did notlike him and even made fun of him sometimes.So Ken asked me for some advice.

The second letter is from Yang Mei.In her letter she told me something about hercousin.

She had invited her cousin home to spend part of the winter vacation with her.But thenshe discovered that her cousin had started to tell lies.She did not know whether to tell hisparents and teachers or not.So she asked me for my advice.

Mum:Amy,have you written back to Ken and Yang Mei?

Amy:Yes,and I’ve posted the letters already.

Mum:Did you give Ken some advice?

Amy:Yes.I told him not to worry about being short.Many people are short,and theyare just fine.

Mum:Hmm,but Ken’s problem is that he doesn’t have friends at school,and what wasyour suggestion?

Amy:I told him that he should choose a special friend,someone who he thinks is kindand friendly,and I told him not to spend too much time alone.

Mum:Good.And what did you say in your letter to Yang Mei?

Amy:…

4.布置作业 1)完成练习册中所安排的练习;2)复习全册单词。


四、难句分析


1.Have you considered using the lab in your free class?你有没有考虑过在自由活动的课上利用这个实验室呢?

consider是及物动词,其后要用-ing短语(doing sth.),而不是不定式(to do sth.),例如:

I considered going to see Paul in winter.我考虑冬天去看保罗。

We have considerd doing a tomato experiment.我们已经考虑过做西红柿实验的问题。

consider后还可以跟“疑问词+不定式”(如how/when to do)。例如:

I considered when to go to see Paul.我考虑过何时去看保罗的问题。

We have considered how to do a tomato experiment.我们已经考虑过如何做西红柿实验的问题。

2.I suggest you ask Mr.Wu.我建议你去问问吴先生。

动词suggest作“建议”解,后面宾语从句的谓语多用“should+动词原形”,should也可以省略,而只用动词原形。例如:

I suggested Jane(should)visit the chemistry lab right away.我建议简立即去看看化学实验室。

I suggest Jack(should)not wear the sweater.我建议杰克不要穿那件毛线衫。

此外,suggest后还可以跟名词或-ing短语(doing sth)作宾语,但不能跟不定式(to doSth.)。例如:

She suggested doing the experiment in another way.她建议用另一种方法做实验。

I suggested not telling lies to Alice.我建议不要向爱丽丝说谎。

3.I used to get along very well with my cousin and we used to be very good friends.我过去同我的表弟相处得很好,我们曾经是好朋友。

1)get along(with sb.)(同某人)相处。在get along后可以加副词,表示相处得如何,如本句中的get along very well(相处得很好)。例如:

I can’t get along with him.He likes to make fun of me.我不能同他相处,他喜欢嘲笑我。

The twins get along very nicely with their classmates.这对双胞胎和同学们相处得很融洽。

get along(with sth.)则表示“某事进展/进行”的意思。例如:

The project is getting along much better now.这项工程现在进展得好多了。

2)used to+动词原形,这一结构的意思是“过去惯常”,只用于过去时。例如:

I used to walk to school,but now I go by bike.我过去步行上学,现在骑车上学。

He used to like country music,but now he dislikes it.他过去喜欢乡村音乐,但是现在不喜欢了。

used to do sth.的否定式有两种形式:一是didn’t use to do sth.,二是usedn’t to dosth.。例如:

He didn’t use to/usedn’t to like country music,but now he is getting interested in it.他过去不喜欢乡村音乐,但现在慢慢感兴趣了。

4.过去将来时

过去将来时的基本形式是:would+动词原形。would可用于任何人称。过去将来时还可以用was/were going to来表示“原本打算干某事”的意思。例如:

I thought I would make lots of new friends.我曾经认为我会交上许多新朋友。

They said that they were going to spend the vacation together.他们说过他们打算一起度假。

过去将来时的基本概念:过去将来时表示对过去某一时间而言将要发生的动作或存在的状态。它是一种相应的时态,总是同过去的动作相对应而存在,如以上例句。
